The Ecoegg Laundry Egg is a 2 in 1 replacement for laundry detergent + softener, giving you a greener laundry solution. It cleans clothes effectively using two types of pellets – white washing pellets and the black tourmaline pellets – encased in a recyclable, refillable laundry egg case.
The white pellets do the cleaning and the black pellets increase the efficiency of the white pellets by reducing the water surface tension, drawing out the dirt. The egg itself helps to remove dirt and soften your laundry items.
The detergent pellets are designed with a no nasties formula, containing no enzymes, chlorine bleaches, phosphates, parabens, SLS/SLES or palm oil and leave significantly less detergent itchy residue on your clothes versus traditional detergents and fabric softeners.
Our vegan founder, Dawn, personally battled with eczema whilst growing up. Her own struggles made her realise the sensitivity of skin to normal detergents which inspired her to invent a new type of detergent that is much gentler on skin. Our formula is lightly fragranced to be gentle on delicate skin AND have been dermatologically tested and rated “excellent” by Dermatest for sensitive skin. While a lot of us are familiar with strong, chemically fragranced detergents, strong fragrance doesn’t always mean clean. We get the job done whilst being gentle on skin.
Kinder to the environment and gentler on skin than traditional washing detergents, ALL Laundry Eggs are rated 'Excellent' by Dermatest for sensitive skin. We encourage the use of our Fragrance Free Laundry Egg for babies and those with particularly sensitive skin as this egg is entirely removed from any perfume and has held the Allergy UK endorsement since 2011.

OPEN THE LAUNDRY EGG
1. Hold the Laundry Egg with two hands on its side and use your stronger hand to hold the larger half of the egg.
2. Push the button in with your thumb firmly.
3. Whilst continuing to push the button in, twist the larger half in the direction of the arrow whilst holding the bottom half still. Twist this until the two triangles line up.
4. When the triangles line up, pull apart the two halves of the egg.
FILL THE LAUNDRY EGG
1. Turn the larger half of the egg case upside down.
2. Now, empty ALL FOUR bags of pellets into this half (3 bags of white washing pellets and 1 bag of black tourmaline pellets).
CLOSE YOUR LAUNDRY EGG
1. With ALL the pellets poured into the larger half of the egg case, slot the smaller egg case lid back on top of the bottom half. Line up both triangles so that they are aligned with each other.
2. Now, twist the larger half of the egg in the direction of the arrow until you hear a ‘click’ sound, and one arrow is now aligned with the lock icon.
USING THE LAUNDRY EGG
1. Place the Laundry Egg into the drum of your washing machine on top of your clothes.
2. Do not overfill your washing machine with clothes - it is important for the clothes and Laundry Egg to have some space to circulate.
3. Start your washing machine as normal! Use the Laundry Egg with settings from 15°C up to 60°C (60°F - 140°F).
4. Once finished with your washes, allow your Laundry Egg to air dry. Do not leave it inside the machine for long periods of time, as this can cause mould to form on the pellets.
5. Repeat! There is no need to top up your Laundry Egg until you have used it for 70 washes. Simply pop it back into the washing machine again and again until the pellets have reduced significantly in size and are heavily pitted. Turn over to find out when to refill your Laundry Egg. F
